What’s On In The Area

The gateway to the Shoalhaven is the historic township of Berry. Wander around this charming provincial village, exploring the antique and craft shops, historic buildings and cafes and restaurants. The Berry Country Fair is held on the first Sunday of the month. On the outskirts of town are several wineries, including the award winning Coolangatta Estate. 
Just a 20 minute drive from Berry is Kangaroo Valley village. Spectacular mountain scenery, rolling green hills and an eclectic array of village shopping with a myriad of crafts and produce made from local timbers and freshly grown produce. Still more wonderful restaurants and historic buildings in this pretty village or take a walk in the adjoining Morton National Park with stunningly beautiful natural rainforest areas.
From Kangaroo Valley, drive to the top of Cambewarra Mountain and take in the view over Nowra to Jervis Bay and beyond. Head on down the mountain towards Nowra. Bundanon, the property gifted to the nation by one of Australia’s best known and loved artists, the late Arthur Boyd OA, is situated on the northern side of the majestic Shoalhaven River. At HMAS Albatross, just out of Nowra to the west, the Naval Aviation Museum is a ‘must visit’ for aircraft enthusiasts, or maybe take a scenic flight or experience the adrenalin rush of a parachute jump.

The magnificent Jervis Bay Marine National Park is a 20 minute drive South of Nowra with pristine clear waters and the whitest sands in the world. Watch dolphins frolic in the bay, enjoy a cruise or swim in the clear waters.Visit the nearby National Parks to see our unusual and unique wildlife or enjoy a picnic in the Botanic Gardens. Our fresh seafood is a treat.
The Northern Shoalhaven area is surrounded by National Parks with amazing bushwalking trails to experience the wonderful Australian bush with its unique flora and fauna. For golfing enthusiasts, wherever you are there is a golf course nearby. Be as busy as you want or simply relax, enjoy good food and wine and fresh air.
